I don’t know what this generation’s fascination with Mick Jagger is, but I honestly think that somewhere, someone got confused.

Between Ke$ha “I have no personal dignity and am above using the letter “S”’s lyric: “And we kick’em to the curb unless they look like Mick Jagger”and the new song “Moves like Jagger” by Maroon 5 and Xtina (we are close personal friends, so I can call her Xtina) people seem to have no idea that Mick Jagger is in actuality a 68-year old man, who has more lines on his face than a topographical map of the Grand Canyon and because of his age and years of drug use probably has the dance moves of something that is 68 years old and did heavy drugs for many years. Analogies aren’t really my thing.

But, whether these assertions are true or not (which they very well might be- I’m sure he’s a better dancer than I am, except to “Birthday Sex” by Jeremiah because I am simply unparalleled when that song comes on) they have rocketed the Rolling Stones rocker back to the spotlight. Well, “back” meaning kids younger than 12 now know who he is. As frontman of the Rolling Stones, he was never really/never will be “out” of the spotlight.

But musicians (I use that term loosely, no offense to Maroon 5 fans) have been newly obsessed with him! And we are too, because along with dancing to the oldies and winning beauty pageants, Mick has become more anti-smoking! The singer used to (famously) use and abuse all kinds of drugs from cigarettes to heroin, and has since quit! Like Hilary Duff before him, he too is “Coming Clean.” (Pay no attention to that timeline, I understand Hilary Duff could never do anything before Mick Jagger because of the Time Space Continuum- just run with it).

Mickey (again- close personal friends) has been instructing his actual good friend Joss Stone to quit smoking! He apparently “goes mental” (he is British after all) over her smoking and “tells her off” whenever she is photographed smoking. With this attitude, we are ready to jump on the Jagger bandwagon.
